Hi friends! Welcome to another day in my life on vacation. So I thought today would be a great day to show you what I ate today because we went to Universal Studios and Island of Adventure, meaning I wasn’t able to cook any of my own food. Side note: I’ll be the first to admit, this was not a very healthy day for me. At all. I definitely didn’t get in all of my nutrients and I ate some really crappy amusement park food. BUUUT that’s okay. Because I had a lot of fun today and I don’t think it’s the end of the world to have one day of junk food while I’m on vacation ¯\_(ツ)_/¯. Even though I’m someone who really cares about my health and making sure that I’m always getting really good, nutrient dense foods into my diet, I also allow myself to be a human being who occasionally has days full of junk food :-). With that being said, I’ll get into all of my meals from today!
6:30 am – I woke up.
6:50 am – I had 2 pieces of toast (Note: this isn’t the bread I actually used today but it is my favorite bread ever so I highly recommend it) with peanut butter and I always use Jif Natural Peanut Butter because it’s literally the best peanut butter ever and it doesn’t have any hydrogenated fats in it. Then I just had a cup of coffee with a little sprinkle of sugar.
12:00 pm – I had a chocolate chip cookie dough Larabar.
3:00 pm – I bought a vegetarian kabob with lettuce, tomato, and pita from Fire Eater’s Grill in The Lost Continent. However when I got it, it had a white creamy sauce on it and I assumed there was a 98% chance that it had dairy in it. So I returned it and asked for one without sauce and the sauce-free one was still very delicious. It had peppers, onion, zucchini, and squash and it was marinated in Italian dressing.
5:30/6ish pm – I ate a little bit of our family friend’s cotton candy because it was literally the size of two human heads. It was ginormous.
6:30 pm – I had “dinner” which was a vanilla latte with soy milk from Starbucks (because Universal Studios is cool and has those all over the park) and a soft pretzel from one of the snack kiosks.
And that was what I ate while at an amusement park. Just like my last post, I drank a lot of water throughout the day (which is especially important when you’re walking out in the sun all day). Anyways, I hope you all liked this miniseries of “What I Eat in a Day” posts and you learned a little bit about how to be vegan throughout different activities. And I especially hope that this post showed you that you can be vegan pretty much everywhere if you just look/try hard enough. Stay tuned for a post on more about tips and tricks to being a traveling vegan.
Have a lovely day 🙂
